The following tweet is a whole MF mood.
How many times have you felt like this? Be honest!
People will send you on a guilt trip with no food, water, or fair for a return trip. Talkin' about "Why you don't never call me?" or "How come you don't come around anymore?"
First of all, this rent/mortgage ain't gettin' no cheaper...and neither is none of these bills. And the way this inflation is set up, it ain't goin' down no time soon.
Second, ain't nobody (including them) tryna pay for none of these bills neither.
Third, we live in a time in history that offers a thousand ways to get in touch with somebody. There's FaceTime, Social Media, Text, email, and the traditional calling method where you press a bunch of numbers that are specifically assigned to your place of business and/or residence. If they've decided to ignore ALL of these methods, but still got the nerve to fix their mouth to ask you a goofy question like that, leave them alone.
WHEN PEOPLE SHOW YOU WHO THEY ARE...
Aunty Maya Angelou done told us a thousand and one times: "When someone shows you who they are, believe them!"
Beyonce tickets cost anywhere between $300 to $1000 and she SELLS OUT arenas EVERY DAMN TIME. If the person you are talking to can find a way into one of those EXPENSIVE concerts but can't figure out how to contact you for FREE, remove them from your contact list and save that spot for someone who appreciates your presence enough to reach out every once in a while.
It's generally understood that life happens and as Women on the move, it can get a little difficult to talk to your friends EVERY day...but that's still no excuse for lack of reciprocity. Every relationship needs the participation of all its participants. If your relationship lacks reciprocity...can you really call that a relationship?
Stop checkin' for folks that ain't checkin' for you.
