We've said it before and that's still not gon stop us from saying it again: self care is more than a mani & pedi. It's more than just taking care of your hair, skin, and nails. It's so much deeper than what other people see. It's not just about taking care of your outsides; It's also about taking care of your insides, too.

Self care is taking care of your financial business so that you don't have to experience unnecessary anxiety when life throws you a financial curveball. Be as ready as you can for that shit by making some dope financial choices for yourself RIGHT NOW.

Self care is taking care of your diet NOT just so that you look good, but so you can also feel good, too. And when we say diet, we ain't just talking about food. We're taking about what social media links you choose to click on (stay TF away from trigger-worthy political content until we can clean some sh*t up socially in this country. We got A LOT of work to do so now is a good time to be picky about what you tune in to. By all means, stay abreast of what's going on around the world, but don't engage in meaningless content that only serves to trigger you and not teach you anything of substance.), what shows you're streaming, what books you're reading...anything that requires one of your 5 senses to consume it. These are the things that effect your spirit tremendously.

Finally, change your mind about what self care means because you're the ONLY one who can say what's best for YOU. Don't let social media, family traditions or short-term trends convince you that self care is something that doesn't actually result in you taking care of yourself. Do the work and research what fills you cup up. This act alone is self care.
